Gunners Exodus as the 'Last of the Invincibles' Completes £16m Manchester City Move

"We don’t want to have to rebuild again, so I want to keep all the players together for next season. I don’t want to lose anyone"

These were the words given from Arsene no less than a month ago. Since that time we have seen the arrival of the little known Belgium defender Thomas Vermaelen from Ajax for a fee of around £10m, but Wengers promise was very short lived.
When Vermaelen arrived i was interested to see that he is infact only 1.82m tall, much like that of Kolo Toure who stands at 1.83m. This small fact was to be a major hint at what news was coming to the Gunners.
First came the long anticipated departure of outcast Emmanuel Adebayor to Manchester City, much to the delight of Arsenal fans after the transfer was completed for a fee of £25m, compared to the fans valuation of around '£25'. However what was to follow was a shock realisation of the problems occuring within the club.
At 5.20pm today the move taking Arsenal legend Kolo Toure to the Eastlands club was completed and this saw the end of an 8 year career with the Gunners. Toure has signed a four-year deal after Arsenal accepted a bid of £16m from the 'Sky Blues' on Monday.
Arsenal fans will now be anxiously waiting to see if Arsene will replace the two Arsenal starters with names such as Klaas-Jan Huntelaar from Real Madrid and Bordeaux frontman Marouane Chamakh. Whereas even though Vermaelen is available Brede Hangeland is still being tipped for the no5 role at the Emirates.
